VANCOUVER, BC – JUNE 20 – SRK is delighted to have appointed Kimberley Webb as a principal consultant in kimberlite geology. Kimberley joined the Vancouver Mining team’s new Diamond Group in March.

With 23 years of experience in the diamond industry, Kimberley is an expert in the petrography and geological modelling of kimberlites and lamproites in support of exploration, evaluation, resource estimation, and mine planning. She has contributed to projects throughout Canada and in southern, central and west Africa, India, and Australia, including Victor, Fort à la Corne, Gahcho Kué, Ekati, Diavik, Renard, Koidu, Jwaneng, Karowe, and Argyle.

Before joining SRK, Kimberley was a principal geoscientist with Mineral Services Canada and held various positions with De Beers and Anglo American. She played a key role in identifying the geological controls on grade variation at Victor and more recently made significant updates to the AK6 geological model at Karowe. She also conducts audits of geological models, designs drilling and sampling programs, and provides training in logging, geological data acquisition, sampling methods, and petrography. Kimberley is a contributing author of several NI 43-101 technical reports on kimberlites and has presented various short course and conference presentations on kimberlite geology and evaluation. She recently coauthored a kimberlite terminology and classification scheme and Glossary of Kimberlite and Related Terms. She is registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions and with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.

“Kimberley has been involved in geological development work for the world’s largest mines, such as Jwaneng, Karowe, and Argyle,” said SRK Corporate Consultant Casey Hetman. “Considered a world leader in her field, she has invaluable expertise to share and is a key member of our new Diamond Group.”
