Ali Albayrak

Ali is a highly experienced environmental expert for EU capacity building projects with over 30 years of international experience. He is one of the most equipped and experienced experts on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) applications in Turkey. He has 9 international papers and 3 posters at the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) Conferences. 

In 2004, Ali took part in Turkey's first SEA pilot project. He worked as the EIA Branch Manager for Energy investments for more than four years and took part in every stage of the EIA process. He led the establishment of the “EIA Training and Information Center” in the Ministry of Environment for the regular training of EIA experts. He served as the Horizontal Sector Coordinator in EU Projects with the approval of the Minister. He worked as a Project Control Specialist in many EU projects. 

In the early years of his career, Ali worked as a shift engineer at the Open Mine where Iron Ore was produced in the Divriği Mines. Later, he worked as a contract manager for two iron ore and one manganese ore at KARDEMİR. He worked in the IPA I Term Projects for more than five years and worked as the Quality Assurance and Control Unit Coordinator for four years and improved his managerial skills by preparing an annual work plan, training needs analysis, risk assessment and risk management. He also works as the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit Coordinator. He recently completed the "Sustainable Cities Project" financed by World Bank and he was acting as an environmental and energy expert.
