Cristóbal Cox

Early on his professional career, between 2008 and 2010 he worked for the Glaciology and Snow Unit at the National Water Management (Unidad de Glaciología y Nieves de la Dirección General de Aguas), monitoring and coordinating multidisciplinary studies in Chilean glacier and peri-glacier areas. Later, he completed a master’s degree in water resources in Germany, specializing in hydrogeology.

In 2012, back in Chile, he worked at GP Consultores for nine years; in this consulting company, he led the Monitoring Unit for seven years, coordinating monitoring campaigns and hydrological, hydrogeological, hydrochemical and isotopic studies for mining companies and government agencies (SISS, DGA, CONAF).

In this unit he implemented a quality management system under the NCh-ISO17020: 2012 Standard to obtain authorization as ETFA by the Superintendency of the Environment. In addition, during this time he participated in the development of conceptual and numerical hydrogeological models. During the last two years at GP Consultores, he led the Special Projects Unit, advising and consulting directly to large mining clients, preparing and reviewing environmental monitoring reports and specialized studies to respond to the authority on water resources and quality problems.

He was part of the R+D+I team at GP Consultores, developing proposals and loT solutions (hardware and software) to increase connectivity and efficiency of services.

In 2021 he joined SRK Consulting as a senior engineer, leading projects and providing expert advice in the Hydrogeology Area.
