SRK Consulting, a global leader in mining and exploration services, has appointed a new Managing Director, Shameek Chattopadhyay for SRK Mining Services (India) Private Limited, based out of Kolkata, India. Shameek replaces SRK India’s Managing Director of 17 years, Subrato K. Ghosh. As a co-founder of SRK India, Subrato believes that succession is an important aspect of SRK’s practicing philosophy and will continue to contribute to the company as a Director and Practice Leader at SRK India.
Shameek Chattopadhyay has been with SRK since 2007 and has over 23 years of experience in the Indian mining industry as a resource geologist. Prior to joining SRK, Shameek worked with De Beers and Pebble Creek. A graduate from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, Shameek is a Competent Person for multiple styles of mineralisation, specialising in technical reporting and mineral project auditing requiring reporting to internationally recognised reporting standards.
Throughout his SRK career, Shameek has managed projects from diverse geographical locations and his extensive international experience spans over 20 countries.
